How did Brian become such a well rounded stand up comedian you ask? Here you go.
During the end of his 8th grade year in his small Kentucky junior high, Brian was voted the most bashful boy in his entire 8th grade class. Although this brought a certain amount of notoriety, it did not bring friends, or girls. Or girlfriends. So between his 8th grade and freshman year, he decided that it was time to become popular.
He spent the 1st half of his freshman year watching the people that everyone liked. They fell into two categories. Good looking rich people, which were not options, and the funny guy. Brian then spent the next year and a half learning how to be funny. He watched funny people he knew, funny people on T.V. and anyone that got laughs. And most importantly, girls.
The rest of high school was used to hone in on his new craft. And he was very good at it. Luckily Brian was blessed with a quick wit that lay hidden all of those years behind a shy persona and wedgies. He also learned very quickly that people don’t expect a smart aleck comment from the guy that always seems four seconds away from crying. So he used this to his advantage to develop a style of humor that leaves people laughing and being borderline upset even though they aren’t really sure why.
Brian has used this style of humor to make everyone from his new found girlfriend's uptight, shotgun wielding fathers to his uptight shotgun wielding Bible College professors laugh and role their eyes while saying, “I can’t believe you said that. And I can’t believe I am letting you get away with it.”
After high school he did the typical college thing. He quickly realized that was for losers and answered the call to become part of the ministry. He went to Kansas City to become a youth pastor to inner city kids and go to Bible College.
He landed a fine woman while in college, and learned to represent while in da hood. Kansas City was a good experience. But Brian and his new wife moved back to Kentucky to continue in youth ministry.
He had been told ever since high school that he should do comedy. But it wasn’t until he spent a year preaching, that he felt led to start a comedy career. And that’s where he is at now. Living in Nashville, learning once again how to be funny.
He has been seen all over town everywhere from drunken redneck bars to churches to the world famous Zanies comedy club performing his brand of good natured, sharp witted, mostly family friendly comedy. Brian has shared the stage with several national touring comedians such as Rik Roberts, Ralphie May, Dan Whitehurst, Nate Bargatze, Beth Donahue, Chad Ridden, Heather Ho, Mary Mack, Keith Alberstadt and others.
