Comedy on the Cumberland was the brainchild of radio personality/comedian Hank Bonecutter. In 2009 after getting "hooked" on performing stand up comedy, Hank combined his love of radio, and his love of laughter, and combined the two for what is now known as Comedy on the Cumberland.
Sitting on the banks of the Cumberland river, Clarksville is the fifth largest city in Tennessee. As with any growing community, there are needs that have to be met. Charities that need more community awareness and money.
The concept behind Comedy on the Cumberland, was to incorporate sponsors willing to support these efforts, and produce a mass media campaign to bring awareness to a specific cause.
Combining radio, internet, television and print, Comedy on the Cumberland has far reaching affects for both sponsors and those in need.
Each Comedy on the Cumberland campaign ends with a fantastic night of stand up comedy, featuring some of the funniest comedians in the business. "Comedy on the Cumberland is a win-win situation for all involved", according to Bonecutter. They say laughter is the best medicine. Laughter with a purpose is a cure.
